BROM FELINIITY WINS LAST DAY VRC CARNIVAL FEATURE

13th November 2006

A last start winner of the Listed Werribee Cup (2000m), Brom Felinity continued her purple patch of form by defeating a quality field of mares in one of the feature contests on the Australian racing calendar restricted to the fairer sex. Positioned just behind the leaders after jumping smartly from an outside barrier, the well-bred daughter of Encosta de Lago seized control relatively early in the home straight before recording a one and half length success.
Bred and raced by the Hoffelners, Brom Felinity is a full-sister to Delago Brom, winner of the Group One VRC Australian Guineas (1600m) as a 3-year-old and now a prominent young stallion with first season progeny to race in 2006/07.
Brom Felinity's Melbourne Cup Carnival success took her earnings to a figure in excess of $350,000. She was among the first horses to be nominated for the $400,000 MRC Sandown Classic (2400m) to be contested on Saturday, November 18, an event which traditionally brings down the curtain on each Melbourne Spring Carnival.
